Raffle Prize presentation Sat 6th Sept 2025
As you will know, Robson Green and his Uncle Matheson donated two paintings that they crafted whilst filming at their favourite fishing spot, Coldingham Loch during one of the episodes of Robson Green’s Weekend Escapes shown earlier this year on the BBC (Series 3 Episode 15) . The filming took place in 2024 when they stayed overnight in Lochside Cottage, and had a great days fly fishing on the loch. Matheson (known to us all at the loch as Taff) then gave Robson an impromptu lesson in painting a landscape.
We asked Robson and Taff if they would sign and donate the paintings to us for us to raffle them off later in the year with all proceeds from the raffle then being added to other funds we raise each year for local charity St Abbs Independent Lifeboat. Jenny and Chris, the owners of Gallery Four in St. Abbs very kindly had the paintings framed and put them on display in their gallery and were responsible for the majority of the raffle ticket sales. A fantastic total of £870 was raised.
Carmel and Gareth would like to extend thanks to everyone that bought tickets to support their chosen charity; Jenny and Chris for their support in helping to organise the raffle and for framing the paintings; and to Robson and Matheson for finding time in their busy schedule to complete the hand-over of the paintings to the winners of the raffle, Moira and Gus Skene of St Abbs.
Our Charity Day takes place as it does every year, on the last Sunday of September – 28th Sep this year. We have a raffle on the day of the charity with a range of prizes donated by our generous members and attendees on the day. If anyone would like to support the charity day please get in contact and we can organise raffle tickets for you. Many thanks.
